Homeschool Helps Day 1: Washington State Homeschool Law

Image
H omeschool Helps Post 1. For my friends who are considering homeschooling in Washington State: Here is the website for Washington State Home School Law. Yes, we have a few laws that we need to follow. Take the time to read through this. You need to know the laws, rights and responsibilities of being a home school parent, just like you need to know the laws, rights and responsibilities of being a public school parent. Remember this: Homeschool is not public school. Your last few months of schooling for the end of the 2019-2020 School year were crisis schooling. This year can and will be fun! We are all having to think outside the box a bit, and change our expectations. All of us have great ambitions and intentions for this year and I am so excited for everyone who is making the leap! Reach out with questions! https://washhomeschool.org/homeschooling/the-law/

Lessons from the Garden

Psalms 46:10  “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. ” I enjoy vegetable gardening on a level that is slightly more than a hobby, but not quite to full off the grid living...(Yet) 😉 June is always a funny month for gardening in our area. I call it the weeding and waiting month. Irrigation has been on long enough and the weather is warm enough that weeds can take over a carefully prepared bed in the blink of an eye. Nearly all of the seedlings I started or bought were planted back in May. It will be at least another month before we really start to see a dent in our grocery bill from our harvest.  It is a month in which a gardener has to be still and know the process of growth is happening. Yet we cannot be idle in our stillness, unless we wish the weeds to take over.  Do you see the spiritual correlation? There has been A LOT of mind boggling things going on in our world over the last f...

C.O.V.I.D 19 Christ Over Viruses and Infectious Disease Joshua 1:9. My life verse. I have loved this verse since I was a teenager and suffered from severe anxiety and panic attacks. I would say that this is a time period that we could all begin to suffer from anxiety and panic. Here is what i hold onto though: God tells us in Joshua,  "Have I not commanded you? Be Strong and Courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (NIV) This last week has brought about some crazy changes for us all! In my own necessary outings over these last few days I have ran into and talked with some of the most beautiful people, as we visited in all of the long lines everywhere. I have seen some great examples of compassion and kindness to others on social media with people stepping into help where it is needed, by sharing baby formula, wipes, diapers and food for elderly people who couldn't handle the stress of going out th...
