Lessons from the Garden

Psalms 46:10  “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. ” I enjoy vegetable gardening on a level that is slightly more than a hobby, but not quite to full off the grid living...(Yet) 😉 June is always a funny month for gardening in our area. I call it the weeding and waiting month. Irrigation has been on long enough and the weather is warm enough that weeds can take over a carefully prepared bed in the blink of an eye. Nearly all of the seedlings I started or bought were planted back in May. It will be at least another month before we really start to see a dent in our grocery bill from our harvest.  It is a month in which a gardener has to be still and know the process of growth is happening. Yet we cannot be idle in our stillness, unless we wish the weeds to take over.  Do you see the spiritual correlation?
